Program/Project Financial Officer

Opportunity

This position will support Defence stakeholders across a portfolio of approximately 15 projects, providing expert financial advice and reporting throughout all phases of the ODCS lifecycle.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a motivated and experienced financial professional who can provide trusted financial management support, engage effectively with senior stakeholders, and contribute to informed decision-making across a complex project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide financial advice and support across approximately 15 projects throughout all phases of the ODCS lifecycle.
• Provide advice to Directors, DGs, HIC and CDI on Portfolio Financial Management
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports covering acquisition, sustainment, and operating budgets.
• Manage key financial activities including:
  • Bi-Annual Reviews
  • Sustainment Reviews
  • Mid-Year Reviews
  • Budget Phasing Activities
  • Cross-Level Transfers
• Monitor project financial performance and support budget planning and forecasting activities.
• Contribute to effective financial governance and reporting outcomes across the portfolio.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience in project, program, or portfolio financial management within complex environments.
• Strong financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities.
• Experience preparing and presenting financial information to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience within Defence or Federal Government environments will be highly regarded.
• Relevant finance, accounting, business, or project management qualifications are desirable.
• An active NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory.
